Faculty are SMEs in their fields but do not always have a complete understanding of the ins and outs of the technology that can be utilized to enhance the learning experience, be it in person or remote. What role do AV professionals play in assisting these stakeholders in designing the “classroom” experience? Has this role evolved given the changes to the classrooms in the past few years post-COVID?
An Electronics engineer by qualification and with vast experience in professional AV industry, he has worked with a variety of organizations including Manufacturer, Systems Integrator, Design Consultancy and Event Technology at various positions. Prior to joining AVIXA full time, he had been a volunteer Instructor for a number of AVIXA trainings in the region and has also been presenting regularly in all of the InfoComm shows in the region since 2013. His areas of interest now include the Emerging Technologies.

[Presentation] Why Acoustics in Audio Visual Setups?
Acoustics has most of the time been a no-man’s land when it comes to facilities that house AV setups. Apart from that, acoustics is a topic either not known or ignored by customers and AV professionals alike. At times, acoustics is done by a few companies that don’t understand the fundamentals of acoustics, and they survive by taking customers on a ride, highlighting just a couple of parameters, and giving good looks, but unfortunately ignoring the acoustic performance. In this short interactive lecture, we will touch on the basics of acoustics, key parameters, the importance of acoustics in AV installations, etc.
